Even though these gaming figures have been kicking some serious butt for over 70 years, their origins are surprisingly humble. In fact, Halloween Horror Massacre is the protagonist of a horror game you’ve probably never heard of – but it’s absolutely one of the best games you’ll ever play! A little backstory… in case you couldn’t remember… It was 1892 and Hopkins was an avid gamer who owned a small business making arcade machines. He wanted to take his creations from arcades to homes with a simple machine that anyone could play at home – so he set out to design something that represented his favorite childhood pastime: playing tabletop battle-shooter games with friends and family members. That’s when he hit upon his first idea: A player-chaining mobile fighting game where each character has a different attack pattern and attacks in succession, giving it the initials T-C-M (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). But because there would be only four playable characters and they were all turtles, he renamed it TMNT Horror Castle and changed its setting from New York City to Halloween Horror Castle (because why not?).
You’re in control of a lone survivor in a wave of killer skeletons. Your goal? To rip through the endless horde with an axe of your own! Stab, slash and decapitate your way to survival against all the odds in this retro-style hack ‘n’ Slay Massacre arcade game. There are over 100 levels to explore and 5 different play styles to choose from - hardcore, medium or relax! You can even customise the difficulty level and the number of skulls you get per wave with bonuses on higher difficulties. The game looks very similar to classic axemen like Super Hexagon, but it’s better than that… It’s violent retro-slash-axe carnage at its best, not that blood and guts stuff you see on YouTube.
